7 Roles of Change™ Workshop x BKKCAW 2026: Understanding People, Building Collaboration, and Driving Change
Updated: 5 hours ago
Change doesn't happen solely because of a good plan, but because we understand the people involved and know how to work with each of them.
Because in every change, people have different roles, perspectives, and needs, 7 Roles of Change™ invites us to shift from trying to “change people” to “understand people” in order to build collaboration and help each individual move forward together.

On October 3rd, Dr. Thassawan Preedaviphat (Coach Meng) led participants through a 7 Roles of Change™ Workshop as part of Bangkok Climate Action Week 2026 (BKKCAW). Throughout the day, participants learned and practiced the MAP → COACH → ACT process, from understanding people's roles to identifying small wins from real-world problems that can be applied to their work.
The 7 Roles of Change™ Workshop took place on October 3rd.
On October 3, 2026, Dr. Thassawan Preedaviphat (Coach Meng) led participants through the 7 Roles of Change™ Workshop, a Change Management course that encouraged everyone to re-examine change through an understanding of the people we work with.
This event, held under Bangkok Climate Action Week 2026 (BKKCAW), was organized by EcoHub and igifier , providing a platform for participants to learn, exchange experiences, and experiment with applying concepts to real-world climate change challenges.
Change doesn't happen from just one person.
In practice, implementing a single change requires collaboration with stakeholders playing diverse roles.
Some are ready to support, some are waiting to see how the situation unfolds, some are asking questions, while others have concerns or are ready to push for change.
The important thing, therefore, is not to make everyone think alike, but to understand that...
Where does each person stand, and what will help them move forward?
At the heart of 7 Roles of Change™ is reading the “roles” of people in a situation, rather than labeling or judging what kind of person someone is, because the same person can play different roles depending on the situation and the time.
Learn Change Management through MAP → COACH → ACT.
Throughout the day, participants learned, exchanged ideas, and practiced through the MAP → COACH → ACT process, a key component of the 7 Roles of Change™.
Because people are different, the way they create change must also be different.
Another important part of the workshop is the exchange of perspectives based on the real-life experiences of the participants.
Because individuals come from different work contexts, we see that the challenges of change in each organization are different, and the methods to encourage people to move do not necessarily have to be the same.
Some situations may require starting with building understanding; some may require creating space for participation; some may require listening to concerns; and some may require providing support to those who are ready to take action.
Learning, therefore, does not occur solely from course content, but also from exchanging experiences and applying those perspectives to real-world problems.
Thank you to everyone who helped create this learning space.
Thank you to Professor Nual (Phanochan Charurangsiphong), Coach Meng (Dr. Thassawan Preedaviphat), Professor Yo (Supang Chiraratthanawanna), and Professor M (Manoch Lertsakornsiri) for joining as speakers, sharing their knowledge, enriching the learning process, and creating a space for exchange throughout the day.
And thank you to all the participants for being open-minded, asking questions, exchanging experiences, and participating in experiments together.
Because learning about Change Management doesn't end with just listening, but happens when we take the concepts and test them with real people and situations.
7 Roles of Change™ doesn't suggest changing "people".
Ultimately, 7 Roles of Change™ doesn't suggest changing "people," but rather changing the way we see people.
From asking who agrees or disagrees, to understanding what role he is playing.
From trying to push everyone to change, to discovering what will help each individual move forward.
Because change doesn't start with making everyone think alike, but perhaps with understanding that...
"Where is each person standing?"
Follow 7 Roles of Change™ and let's understand the roles of people during times of change together.
