Because change isn't just about "what needs to be done," but also about "the people we need to understand."

From the previous 7 Roles of Change™ Workshop, participants gained a deeper understanding of organizational change through the perspectives of the people and stakeholders involved. Here are four key insights from the Change Management lessons that can be applied to real-world work situations.

01 | Viewing change through a person's perspective.

A single change involves more than just what needs to be done; it encompasses many roles and perspectives. Understanding how each person views the change helps us gain a more comprehensive picture of the change and its stakeholders.

02 | No rush to put up labels on anyone.

People who are silent, questioning, or hesitant to act don't necessarily mean they are resisting change. Behind those actions, there may be reasons, concerns, or things they still need to consider before making a move.

Therefore, Change Management is not just about who agrees or disagrees, but about understanding what role each person is playing.

03 | Understand what each role requires.

As we gain a better understanding of people's roles, we see that each individual has different strengths and limitations. We can then consider what might help them progress and what we should provide to suit each person's needs.

This is the core of the 7 Roles of Change™, which encourages us to choose communication and collaboration methods that are appropriate for people in each role.

04 | Turn understanding into action.

Understanding a role isn't just about reading people; it's about taking that understanding and taking the next, actionable step, so that change begins to move forward and small wins occur.

Because the goal of understanding people is not just to know who they are, but to find ways to work together and drive change forward.

Because when we shift from "judging people" to "understanding their roles"...

We may be able to see ways to build collaboration and further drive change.

This is one of the things that 7 Roles of Change™ wants everyone to re-examine in their real-world work situations — understanding people, understanding roles, and transforming that understanding into action.

Follow 7 Roles of Change™ and let's understand the roles of people during times of change together.
